Feline Pine

Feline Pine litter is not new but is one of the better lines of cat litters available. Regular
crystal and clumping litters don’t smell that great, but pine litter has a natural smell with odor killing
properties. Therefore, it has become popular with cat owners because it drastically reduces the stench from the
litter box.
At first many people are put off by the price of a bag of feline pine litter. If you compare it to the other
types available it can be almost 2 times the price by volume. However, because of the way they are designed, you
will be saving a lot of money. You see the litter is actually made up of pellets which are made from compacted pine
shavings. When the cat uses them, they turn in to moist bits and then dust. Once they change to dust they dry
quickly and are able to absorb more fluids.
Unfortunately many cats don’t take too well to pine cat litter. The pellets are usually too rough for their paws
and a lot of then never really get use to it. So naturally, you are going to have to consider what your cat is
telling you by its actions. Your cat might keep doing their business in other places than the litter box. If this
happens, you can always spend time retraining or finding a better litter. A lot of the time it only takes some time
by mixing the current litter with some Feline Pine and starting off with a little pine working
your way up over time. Over time you will decrease the amount of old litter until you are using the new one
completely. Even though many cats will take to this, there are some who won’t. And if you try to force them you
will only be wasting your time because they simply won’t use it. So it is best to find something that works, rather
than wasting time and money on something that isn’t going to be used.
Feline Pine Cat Litter
Some people that are unable to get their cats to use 100% pine will only sprinkle it over their regular cat
litter, and do this until their cat passes on. There is still an advantage of using the pine pellets when it comes
to odor control. This way, not only are you keeping your nose happy, but your cat will take pleasure in using the
litter box when they need to do their business.
One of the problems that many people worry about is the strong smell of pine. Yes, as humans we can get use to it
but cats have very sensitive noses and may want to keep far away from it. This particular brand of litter may not
be for you if that is the case. Another important thing to remember is that feline pine cat litter is safe to use
and shouldn’t contain any poison or toxins that would be harmful to you or your pets.
And finally, if you have a weekly compost service or a spot in your backyard for compost, you can easily empty a
Feline Pine litter box in to the compost with no worries because it will all be biodegradable. If
you cat doesn’t mind this type of litter it will be beneficial for the environment, your cats health, your house
smell, and of course your pocket book. Keep your cat poop happy and you will enjoy being a cat owner.
